The Google Games

I liked the Seychelles flag's use of a bold. bright, primary colour palette - Blue Red Yellow Green. It put me in mind of the Google logo.

I then saw how the logo for the games used Google's colours:

And Seychelles neighbour Mauritius uses Google's bright, cheerful colours :in horizontal bands rather than radially.

I have even seen Google's colours on the high street in H&M's window display so not only the Game's influenced by Google's colours.

Not to mention the Google people at the Opening Ceremony welcoming the Athletes...

......and the Google fly pass by The Red Arrows as the Queen entered the Stadium on the Opening Night.....

  1. Hi Michael. Great blog. Found my way to it from your link on the volunteers page on facebook. Just wondering, can you remember where the pic of Scotland's entry (above the red arrows pic) came from? (was it from another site or one you took yourself?) It's the only opening ceremony pic I've managed to find myself in so keen to try and track down the original! Thanks! Elaine

  3. Yes, we have great seats, very close to the action. I've posted all those pics from the end of Scotland entering - they're in an album on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/gp/michael_o/01368f/
Hope you can see your self - love to know which one is you!

  4. Fantastic! Thank you so much Michael :-) I'm in the 4th and 5th photos. (I'm the front one of the 2 girls walking off the track with chairs in the front left of the picture). We had been setting up chairs in the middle of the stadium, hence weren't meant to be part of the group dancing behind the Scotland team - until we were asked to remove some chairs to create a gap for wheelchairs! That meant a very brief dance behind Team Scotland as we fought our way through with chairs. Can't believe that someone (i.e. you) captured the moment, and also that I stumbled across it online :-)
Is it OK if I share the link with some of the other dancers? Loads of them will be able to find themselves in the pics, and with "Scotland" in the background it's a fantastic shot.

  5. Hi Elaine , Yes it's amazing that you found the picture - the wonders of the Internet and your inquisitiveness. Please do share the link with others, I'd welcome some feed back here on the blog that the found their picture, that'd be nice ! If they (& u) wanted maybe I could create a picture (or pictures) in which they are named (Christian Name only :-). There'd be two pictures one with the names on the other without. Do let me know meanwhile please feel free to share the link. Regards, Michael
